Description
Non-needle fat dissolve is a treatment aimed at small, stubborn pockets of fat that resist diet and exercise. It is a body contouring treatment and is not a weight loss treatment.
How it works
A solution containing deoxycholic acid is applied to the treatment area and delivered into the tissue without a needle, using a device that creates a fine, high-pressure stream. Deoxycholic acid disrupts the membrane of fat cells in the treated area. The released lipids are then processed and cleared by the body through the lymphatic system over the following weeks.
What to expect
The treatment takes around 20 minutes and you can return to your normal day straight away. Changes develop gradually over four to eight weeks as the body clears the treated cells. Most people need more than one session to see the result they are looking for, and the number depends on the area and your individual response. Your therapist will set out a realistic plan at your consultation.
How long do results last?
Fat cells that are broken down in this way are cleared by the body and do not return. However, remaining fat cells in the area can still enlarge, so results depend on maintaining your weight through your normal diet and activity. Results vary from person to person and we cannot guarantee a particular outcome.
Aftercare
Some swelling, tenderness, redness or firmness in the treated area is normal for a few days. Drink plenty of water, keep moving gently to support lymphatic drainage, and avoid alcohol, saunas, hot baths and vigorous exercise for 24 to 48 hours. Contact us if you notice anything unexpected, such as increasing pain, significant swelling, hardness that does not settle, or signs of infection.
Who it is not suitable for
This treatment is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for people with liver or kidney conditions, diabetes, an active infection or skin condition in the treatment area, a bleeding disorder or those taking anticoagulants, or people with a history of eating disorders. It is not appropriate for large volumes of fat or as a weight management method. A full consultation is carried out before treatment and we will tell you honestly if it is not right for you.
