Vaginal HIFU Rejuvenation & Tightening

Vaginal HIFU is a non-surgical treatment that uses High Intensity Focused Ultrasound to warm tissue at a controlled depth, without breaking the surface. The heat is intended to stimulate the tissue’s own collagen production, with the aim of improving tone and firmness over the following weeks.

What is it used for?

Clients most commonly choose this treatment because they would like to improve the tone and firmness of the vaginal tissue, often following childbirth or around the menopause.

An important note

This is a cosmetic treatment. We do not diagnose or treat any medical condition. Urinary incontinence, vaginal dryness, pelvic pain, prolapse and recurrent infections are medical matters that should be assessed by your GP, a gynaecologist or a specialist pelvic health physiotherapist. Please speak to them first. If you have been diagnosed with any of these, tell us at consultation so we can assess whether a cosmetic treatment is appropriate for you at all. We will not treat you if it is not.

How does it work?

The system delivers focused ultrasonic energy to a predetermined depth within the tissue. At the focal point the temperature rises briefly, which causes collagen in that layer to contract and then remodel over the following weeks, while tissue outside the focal region is left unaffected.

What to expect

The appointment takes 45 to 60 minutes. Most clients find the treatment tolerable, describing a sensation of warmth, though some find parts of it uncomfortable. You can return to your normal day afterwards. Some initial tightening may be noticeable straight away, with further change developing over the following weeks. Results vary considerably between individuals, and we cannot guarantee a particular outcome.

Aftercare

Avoid sexual intercourse, tampons, swimming, saunas, hot baths and vigorous exercise for at least 72 hours, or for as long as your practitioner advises. Contact us if you experience anything unexpected such as significant pain, bleeding, unusual discharge or signs of infection.

Who it is not suitable for

This treatment is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, within six months of giving birth, during an active urinary or vaginal infection, if you have a pelvic implant, mesh or IUD in the treatment area, if you have a history of pelvic or gynaecological cancer, if you are undergoing fertility treatment, or if you have unexplained bleeding or an undiagnosed gynaecological symptom.
