Slim Down without Surgery: The Benefits of Ultrasound Cavitation

Ultrasound cavitation is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment that uses low-frequency sound waves to target fat cells in the body. The procedure uses a machine that emits ultrasound waves through the skin to reach fatty tissue. It has grown in popularity in recent years, and in this post we look at why.

  1. Non-Invasive

Unlike liposuction or other surgical procedures, ultrasound cavitation requires no incisions, no anaesthetic and no recovery time. Most people return to their normal activities straight after the treatment.

  1. Used for Body Contouring

Ultrasound cavitation is used as a body contouring treatment. The ultrasound waves disrupt the membranes of fat cells in the treated area, and the released contents are then processed by the body through the lymphatic system. Many clients report a smoother, more contoured shape in the treated area. Results vary from person to person, and cavitation is not a weight loss treatment.

  1. Comfortable

Most clients find ultrasound cavitation comfortable. You may feel warmth or a tingling sensation during the treatment, and some people notice a high-pitched buzzing sound. Mild redness or slight bruising can occur afterwards.

  1. Non-Surgical, With a Consultation First

Ultrasound cavitation is a non-surgical treatment, but it is not suitable for everyone. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for people with a pacemaker, metal implants in the treatment area, liver or kidney conditions, or certain other medical histories. It should always be carried out by a qualified and experienced therapist after a full consultation.

  1. Quick and Convenient

Each session typically lasts between 30 and 60 minutes. A course is recommended rather than a single session, usually six to eight treatments spaced about a week apart. There is no downtime.

  1. Results Depend on You

Cavitation works best alongside a healthy diet, good hydration and regular activity. It is not a substitute for either, and results are not guaranteed. Maintaining your results depends on your lifestyle after the course. If you are considering ultrasound cavitation, the best starting point is a consultation so we can be honest with you about whether it suits your goals. Read more about Body Cavitation or get in touch.
